We have moved!

What a busy month it has been! We packed up our old house, loaded the truck, and moved less than a mile away to our new house! We officially closed on April 17 and the next day remodeling started. All of the floors, carpet and baseboards were ripped out and replaced. We repainted every inch of house that could be repainted and we replaced the appliances...all in two weeks! The last thing we need to do is have our kitchen cabinets restained to match our new hardwood floors and that will be done the week of May 19. We were able to stay in our old house 10 extra days so we didn't officially move until April 25. That was a very, very, very long day but we got it all done and had almost the entire house unpacked by the end of the weekend! (A big thank you to my friend Jodi for coming over and helping me unpack!) This past weekend we started hanging pictures up and starting on all of the final touches. I am hoping next weekend we will be completely done with everything!

The boys love their new house. Sawyer has told everybody at school about his new house numerous times and they both love having their own play area upstairs. Cooper especially loves throwing toys from the second floor down to the first floor. Sawyer's room is much bigger than his last room and he even has a walk in closet. He is excited for his friends to come over and play! Once everything gets put up on the walls we will post some before and after pictures of the remodeling we have done.

We got Sawyer registered for Kindergarten last week! He is very excited to go to his new "big boy" school and will have some friends from daycare going to school with him. He enjoyed seeing his new school and meeting the kindergarten teachers. On the way out they gave him a goody bag with clay, crayons, "homework," and a pencil. He was very excited!

Coop is getting adjusted to the stairs in the new house. Stairs -1, Coop - 0. We installed these pretty fancy baby gates to keep him out of the stairs. He does very well when we are with him (except that one time...) and has a creative way of sliding down the stairs. On day 2 of moving in Cooper surprised us with a rash from head to toe. The poor child is allergic to the new carpet (nope, not kidding...has a reaction to the dyes and chemicals). He has been hitting the Benadryl and oatmeal baths pretty hard and it seems to be getting better. We'll make the decision in a few more days about getting the carpets cleaned to try to get some of that stuff out of them.
